Meet
Hillary

Hillary L. Nixon is committed to protecting the quality of life and livelihoods of others. Hillary was born and raised in Lake Charles, graduating from Barbe High School in 1998. She attended college in California and graduated from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies. During college, Hillary was selected to intern for E! Entertainment Television, as well as entertainment publicity pioneer, Warren Cowan. Upon graduation, she worked for one of LA’s top philanthropically integrated entertainment public relations firms and a National non-profit client service organization in Newport Beach.

A Focus on Helping Others

Hillary returned to Lake Charles in 2007 and worked as a licensed realtor for Steven’s Real Estate & Development before she later applied and was admitted into Southern University Law Center in Baton Rouge. While there, Hillary volunteered for the Baton Rouge Bar Foundation’s Self-Help Resource Center, where she assisted self-represented family court litigants with document preparation and filing requirements.

As a student attorney for the Southern University Law Center Divorce Clinic, she actively represented a multitude of clients in the 19th Judicial District Court. In addition, Hillary wrote an independent study on the constitutionality of involuntary termination of parental rights and adoption and was selected as a research assistant by former United Nations Ambassador-at-Large, Dr. B.K. Agnihorti, to support how the legal framework created by the UN has been influenced by international corruption, terrorism, and multiculturalism.

Committed to her Home Town

Hillary returned to Lake Charles after graduating from law school and has since gained experience working as a law clerk for W. Mitch Redd and as an attorney for Corcoran Law Firm and Oasis Women's Shelter. Hillary is now the sole proprietor and attorney of her own law practice, working with clients on family law matters, wills, and successions. When she is not working, Hillary enjoys baking, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
